Thank you so much for your interest in Fishin' For Vision. I started this not for profit in 2018 when I found out my brother and I had cone dystrophy of our retina. At this time there is no cure for it but with Fishin' for Vision I am able to help others with vision disabilities. I have a wonderful team of friends and family that help and are truly what makes this all come together. Our team has raised money to help support Kidsight Foundation. Kidsight Foundation provides free vision screenings for children as young as 6 months old all over Florida. The screenings are mobile and special equipment is used to detect issues. We are also donating money to Retina research in hopes for much more to come in the future. This year we have been able to purchase glasses for children whose families were unable to do so. On May 18th, 2024 we will be having our 5th annual fishing tournament. Our total winning payout to youth and adults is $9,450 between redfish and trout. This year we will also be providing a fishing charter for family with visual needs and another event is that one of the youth anglers will win a lifetime fresh and salt water fishing license.

Fishin' For Vision

Thank you so much for your interest in Fishin' For Vision. I can't thank my current sponsors enough. 2019 was a big year for me. Not only was our fishing tournament a huge success but my brother and I were both diagnosed with Cone dystrophy. Cone dystrophy is a rare eye disorder that affects the cells of the Retina. My family and I have been looking for answers for years. Currently there is no treatment but lots of research is being done in hopes for the future. That being said, I am hoping this tournament will be even bigger. Not only will we continue to support Kidsight foundation, but we are going to provide scholarships for visually challenged 11th and 12th graders. This may be used for collage or trade school. We also plan to get into the local community and find out what the needs are of those who have low vision or blindness and help them out in any way we can.
